What I Do

I have a wide variety of experience building brand campaigns ranging from consumer products & services to purpose-driven initiatives.

My passion lies in developing narratives that help brands connect with their audience, and my range of work varies from individual task briefs to integrated campaigns that involve strategizing, concepting, and production.

In addition to growing into a managerial role as Creative Lead throughout my career, my responsibilities overlapped with strategic digital marketing, where I led and collaborated with cross-functional marketing teams, integrating data-driven strategies to enhance content execution for different channels and drive performance growth.

The works in this website demonstrate my experience in various media platforms including print, video, digital & social content, out-of-home experiences, and website experiences. I am lucky and proud to have produced a series of award-winning creative works with many teams and agencies throughout my career.

More About Me

I grew up in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Indonesia. California is now home. I can speak 4 languages, but I’m most fluent in English.

When I’m not working, you’ll find me playing board games with my family, keeping up with news, economy and trends, and adventuring with our two dogs around the Bay Area. I love meeting people from all walks of life, so let’s connect!

Work Experience

FreelanceCreative Lead/Digital Marketer
May 2024 - Present

Clients hire me to do one or more of the following: develop a creative vision and strategy for the product or brand, lead and manage creative teams to concept and produce campaigns, collaborate with clients and stakeholders to present creative solutions, and manage resources, budget, and setting timeline expectations for cross-functional teams. All lead to the goal of driving performance growth.

On the side, I enjoy working on digital marketing for small businesses supporting them with strategies, production, and performance on content, social media, emails, and SEOs.

Intuit, Mountain View Creative Lead/Art Director
November 2021 - March 2024

Being part of the Brand Storytelling & Experiences Team, I am one of the two Creative Leads supporting the go-to-market (GTM) integrated marketing team, and we built campaigns to recognize Intuit as a household brand that powers prosperity. We worked closely with the Corporate Responsibility (CR) Team and Communication Team to focus our messaging on Intuit's educational and CR initiatives.

Our campaigns are led with E2E channel strategies that include paid and earned media engagement, as well as owned media within Intuit and brand units like TurboTax, Quickbooks, Credit Karma, and Mailchimp, and partnership sponsors like Intuit Dome for the Clippers. We spend a lot of effort testing and evolving campaigns to enhance performance and engagement throughout each quarter.

Projects include brand action social engagements, financial literacy campaigns for NFL playoffs, Intuit Dome brand implementation, and State of the Company employer events.

Crunchyroll, San Francisco Creative Lead/Manager
October 2019 - September 2021

As the Creative Lead of the Design Team within the Creative Services org, I led the crafts of art direction and managed the team's quarterly KPIs.

I oversee design projects that include seasonal IP assets, Crunchyroll Hime mascot and branding, the annual Crunchyroll Expo, partnership and device assets, and campaign announcements of product features.

I joined during the creative team's reorg and collaborated with the interim Creative Director to rebuild the design team's morale and crafts to meet world-class service and design. This responsibility includes allocating resources and hiring contractors for project needs, leveling up crafts for each designer's responsibility, and refreshing the brand identity that also includes employer sub-brands.

Freelance Art Director/Creative Lead
September 2015 - October 2019

I bring the brand story to life, collaborating with creative teams to develop visually compelling and narratively engaging advertising executions. As an art director, I provide artistic direction on styles that effectively communicate the intended message. My goal is to ensure ad campaigns align with brand positioning while delivering impactful and memorable creative concepts that resonate with the audience.

Agencies: Ellation, The Hive Advertising, MRY, Ways & Means
Clients: T-Mobile, UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital, Hess Winery, Fractal Analytics, Atmos Air

Doremus, San Francisco ACD/Art Director
August 2018 - July 2019

Doremus+Co is Omnicom’s exclusive business-to-business marketing agency. My clients include Capital One Business, Intel, Epson, Asurion, and LEGO.

Our team knows that B2B marketing is relationship-driven, so we built long-term connections through targeted campaigns that not only boost brand awareness and lead generation but also open doors to enduring partnerships. We leverage deep market insights with specific audiences to create integrated social and digital funnels that are scalable and innovative. Most of all, our creative campaigns stand out among other competitors with compelling narratives that are more than just about business.

Citizen Group, San Francisco Sr. Art Director
January 2017 - August 2018

Not everyone gets to say that they worked for a well-accomplished Executive Creative Director from Hal Riney & Partners and Chiat/Day, and then founded his agency for almost two decades. I do, and it’s an agency with a successful record of long-term contracts with many purpose-driven clients.

I led campaign concepting and art direction for clients like Amnesty International, San Francisco Health Service System, San Francisco Department of Environment, ARM, Sustainable Brands, Comity Designs, and Japanese American National Museum. It involves a lot of digital advertising, social engagement, and brand building

Spence, San Francisco Sr. Art Director
January 2016 - November 2016

I became interested in purpose-driven initiatives, so I joined Spence to immerse myself in projects for 501(c)(3) organizations.

My copywriter and I led the creative campaigns for the American Institute of Architecture and Louisiana Calling. We find creative solutions to build engagements and brand awareness leveraging heavily from digital and social platforms that are cost-effective. The performance of our campaigns exceeded client expectations and led to a second-year contract.

Mekanism, San Francisco Art Director
May 2012 - April 2015

When Mekanism was at its early “start-up” stage, I was one of the first 10 creatives who was hired to work on new client campaigns for Nordstrom Rack, Muscle Milk, Art.com, Method, Brisk Ice Tea, and Puris & Partners. On a side note, I helped win the new business pitches for Nordstrom Rack and Muscle Milk.

I met talented creatives in this agency who helped me grow my skills in digital, video, and experiential productions. This was around the time when small agencies were highly competitive when they owned their production studios. No wonder they won the Small Agency Award then.

Engine Company 1, San Francisco Jr. Art Director
October 2010 - May 2012

I had the huge honor to work for former creatives from Goodby, Silverstein & Partners and BuderEngel & Friends who founded Engine Company 1 and worked my way up from an intern to a Jr. AD, crafting my traditional advertising skills in print, branding, broadcasting, and new business pitches. I worked on campaigns for clients like Monterey Bay Aquarium, California Pizza Kitchen, 49ers, Wildcare, Rabobank.
